Noble Nomads yarn from Lang Yarns is one of the best you can get. The yarn is produced under proud traditions among nomads in Mongolia; one of the world's most sparsely populated countries with approx. 63 million livestock and only 3 million citizens. Noble Nomads is founded by the brothers Munkhbold and Tselmeg Bold, who both have deep roots in the nomadic community.
The production conditions at Noble Nomads are as sustainable as possible - the fibers are hand sorted and are all undyed, except for the gray cashmere.
The fact that the temperature on the plains of Mongolia fluctuates from +40 degrees in the summer to -40 degrees in the winter gives the different qualities of wool an exceptional insulating ability.
The wool from the cashmere goats is considered the finest wool in the world. What is very special about cashmere from Noble Nomads is that the wool comes exclusively from free-ranging goats from selected nomadic families. Every spring, the animals are brushed by hand to help the animals shed their winter fur - they are not cut. During this process, the top hairs are sorted from the fine underwool, and 150-250 g of the finest cashmere is collected per animal.
