Refined Knitwear – Love for knitting and places is a collection of Rikke's favorite patterns, including a handful of newly designed ones.

Behind Refined Knitwear stands Rikke Bangsgaard, who is known for her popular knitting designs with a distinctly modern Nordic and at the same time simple, feminine style.

The book's 19 knitting designs span blouses, sweaters, cardigans, a slipover and a top as well as accessories in the form of a hat and a scarf. All focus on fit, classic cuts and fine details.

It is knitwear that extends beyond a single season and will be able to be used again and again. The recipes are all described in detail and supported by instructional videos.

Rikke, who has a background as a needlework teacher, says that the recipes are inspired by the simplicity and fine details of the Scandinavian design tradition and specific places in and outside of Denmark that are important to her.

"I find that there is a cohesion and synergy between my design process and the places I stay. Inspiration from nature, colors, structures, moods and memories linked to the places and my personal life have a knock-on effect on the final knitting design.”
